Home match Saturday August 7th Wolves 2 (Fletcher 15, Ebanks-Blake 65) Athletic Bilbao 1 (Lopez 36)
Mick McCarthy's men completed their pre-season programme with a confidence boosting victory over Athletic Bilbao with Steven Fletcher and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake on target in a hard fought contest. Wolves kicked-off attacking the South Bank end and in the opening seconds Matt Jarvis was upended by Bilbao skipper Pablo Orbaiz. Dave Jones lifted the free-kick into the box but it was headed clear. A long throw from Jelle Van Damme was headed on by Fletcher but claimed by keeper Raul Fernandez before Stephen Ward and David Lopez had to receive treatment after both landed heavily following an aerial challenge. A misplaced Karl Henry pass gave Mikel Balenziaga a run at goal but his shot h it Jody Craddock and b o u n c e d b e hind for a corner. Wolves took the lad in the 15th minute after a fine piece of interplay. Jarvis showed great determination as, from on the floor, he touched the ball into the path of Fletcher who then took a perfect return pass from Ebanks-Blake before burying a low shot past Fernandez. Balenziaga looked on to give Bilbao a quick response but Christophe Berra raced across to clear just as the striker was lining up a shot at goal. Oscar De Marcos clipped the top of Marcus Hahnemann's crossbar with a long-range effort and Ebanks-Blake almost prospered at the other end with a dipping volley from 30-yards that wasn't far over after Fletcher had nodded the ball into his path. The Spaniards drew level in the 36th minute through Lopez who met Ibai Gomez's cross at the far post and clipped the ball into the opposite corner of the net.
H alf-Time: Wolves 1 Athletic Bilbao 1
George Elokobi replaced Ward for the start of the new half. He slotted in at left-back whilst Van Damme pushed up into midfield. A foul by Jarvis on Gomez led to a free-kick for the visitors in a dangerous position but Hahnemann was perfectly placed to field Lopez's attempt. When Jarvis won a free-kick himself, he lifted the ball across from the left and it flew through the area just eluding Ebanks-Blake and Craddock before drifting behind on the far side. A fine piece of play from Fletcher alm ost rew ard ed the Scot with a sec ond goal after he had taken a short pass from Van Damme. He turned on the edge of the box wrong footing his marker before firing inches wide of the far post. Koikili Lertxundi was booked after a heavy challenge on Jarvis who took the free-kick himself finding Berra whose near post flick was turned behind by Fernandez. From the corner, again taken by Jarvis, Fletcher powered in a header that was cleared off the line by Orbaiz. Carlos Gurpegui was yellow carded for kicking the ball away after he had conceded a foul, before a double switch saw Greg Halford and ~Andy Keogh replaced Jarvis and Fletcher respectively. Wolves regained the ad vantage in the 66th minute through Ebanks-Blake. Fernandez initially blocked from the striker after Henry has chipped a short ball into the box. The ball rebounded to Henry who tried his luck with a low drive only for Fernandez to save again. This time Keogh gained possession finding Henry who squared the ball to Ebanks-Blake who scooped it into the net. Halford fired into the side netting after swivelling onto a long throw from Elokobi, as Wolves continued to look the stronger side. ~Carl Ikeme made a late appearance in plac e of Hah nem ann and he was call ed into action in stoppage time after Berra had been booked for a foul on Gurpegui just outside the home area. Inigo Perez curled the free-kick through the wall but Ikeme got his body fully behind the ball to deny Bilbao the chance of a last gasp equaliser.

Hearts 0 Wolves 2 (Halford 4, Ward 18)
So Greg Halford certainly took Mick's warning to heart about performing in pre-season, opening the scoring and then getting the assist for the second from Wardy.
Our travelling reporter, Mr Woodifield, says that Wolves played well and the score should have been more emphatic. He also reports that the Deuchars IPA is a good pint, well sampled by himself, Mr Slape and The Chairman!
Congratulations to Christophe Berra and Stephen Fletcher for their Scotland call-ups.

Wolves ended their pre-season travels with a comfortable victory over Hearts at Tynecastle with early goals from Greg Halford and ~Stephen Ward putting paid to the SPL team. Kevin Doyle skippered the side for the first time as Wolves kicked-off defending the end of Tynecastle that housed around 400 visiting supporters. After a long throw from George Elokobi and a corner from Nenad Milijaš had been cleared, Wolves moved into a fourth minute lead. Doyle was clearly pulled back by Craig Thomson on the edge of the Hearts area and Halford curled a superb free-kick over the wall and into the net. Within two minutes it took a fine save from home keeper Marian Kello to prevent a second as Doyle raced onto a long clearance. From a tight angle he attempted to clip the ball into the net but Kello just managed to deflect it away. Wolves were well on top and they threatened again after Milijaš had b een fouled by Ian Black wide on the right. The Serb whipped over the free-kick and Doyle's glancing header flew into the arms of Kello. But Wolves pressure paid off again in the 18th minute as Ward ran in at the near post to power home a header from Halford's long throw in. Thomson got plenty of power behind a 25-yard shot but Marcus Hahnemann didn't have to move his feet to collect the ball. The Halford and Ward combination almost paid off again with another long throw but Ward's bouncing header was fielded by Kello from under the bar. After being on the backfoot for most of the opening half-hour, Hearts twice went close to netting in a three minute spell. Suso Santana hit an angled drive that Hahnemann needed two attempts to gather at his near post before Darren Barr headed wide after David Templeton had lifted a free-kick into the box. Wolves were soon back on the attack and Kello made a great save in keeping out ~Andy Keogh's volley after Doyle had nodded down Elokobi's centre. From the corner conceded, taken by Milijaš, Doyle flashed a header inches wide of the far post. Just before the break Ryan Stevenson wasn't far away with a low shot from the edge of the box.
Half-Time: Hearts 0 Wolves 2
Geoffrey Mjangi Bia replaced Keogh for the start of the new half which was five minutes old when Calum Elliot's diving header following Santana's cro ss went straight into the arms of Hahnemann. There was a scramble in the home six-yard box after Ward had back heeled Dave Edwards's low cross but the home defence eventually cleared the danger. Mujangi Bia beat two men on a run into the Hearts area before driving the ball narrowly wide of the far post before Matt Hill replaced Elokobi in the Wolves defence. Templeton earned the crowd's applause with a clever shot on the turn from the edge of the box that wasn't far away, and then Doyle struck the outside of the post after playing a one-two with Ward. Another four changes were then made by ~Mick McCarthy with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Sam Vokes, Dave Jones and, back at his old club, Christophe Berra replacing Ward, Doyle, Milijaš and the impressive Steven Mouyokolo who had won virtually every header he had challenged for. Within seconds of his introduction Jones ran half the length of the field beating three challenges before planting the ball just wide of the post as he attempted to beat Kello.

Leeds United 3 (Gradel 36, Sam 49, Johnson 86)Wolves 1 (Jarvis 45+1)
If Mick McCarthy was looking for a testing work-out for his team then he certainly got one as Wolves fell to a 3-1 defeat against a lively Leeds United side that look destined to be a force in the Championship if they can maintain the form shown against the ~Molineux men. Wolves had their chances but, in the end, they had a solitary effort from Matt Jarvis to show for their efforts. Leeds started brightly and Jelle Van Damme did well to clear a dangerous cross from Lloyd Sam whilst, for Wolves, Steven Fletcher's powerful shot from the edge of the box was blocked by a defender. In the 12th minute Van Damme looked to have won the ball when he challenged Max Gradel on the corner of the Wolves area but a free-kick was awarded. Neil Kilkenny lifted the ball into the six-yard box where Bradley Johnson ran in to send a bouncing headed narrowly wide of the far post. Fletcher flicked the ball wide after a cross from ~Karl Henry and, after Van Damme was again penalised for a challenge on Gradel, Paul Connolly's free-kick was headed goalwards by former Wolves defender ~Neill Collins who was denied by ~Wayne Hennessey's flying save. There was a scramble in the home area following a Dave Jones corner after Fletcher had nodded the ball down before Johnson missed a good chance for Leeds when he screwed a shot wide after Luciano Becchio had opened up the Wolves defence. In the 23rd minute Adlene Guedioura was a foot wide with a low snapshot from 25-yards and then Kasper Schmeichel came to Leeds' rescue after Jarvis had raced clear onto Fletcher's pass. He looked odds on to score after he had outstripped Kilkenny but Schmeichel made a fine save as Jarvis blasted the ball towards goal (pictured). Leeds moved ahead in the 36th minute when Kilkenny's corner was headed out by Guedioura but only as far as Gradel who rifled a terrific volley past Hennessey from 22-yards. Gradel had another chance from a similar position just before the break but this time he wildly blasted the ball high and wide. With the last kick of the half Wolves drew level. Fletcher was fouled by Kilkenny wide on the left and Jarvis's free-kick eluded everyone as it curled in at the far post.
Half-Time: Leeds 1 Wolves 1
It took a superb save from Schmeichel to keep out a ferocious angled drive from Fletcher within two minutes of the restart but, in the 49th minute, Leeds regained the lead. Gradel took the ball to the by-line before delivering a low cross that was turned home by Sam from just six-yards out. Hennessey was in action shortly afterwards as he smothered a low shot from Becchio and, at the other end, Collins got in the way of an effort from Jarvis with the ball bouncing behind for an unproductive corner. Jonathan Howson broke from the halfway line and with Jarvis in hot pursuit he unleashed a shot that Hennessey parried and then just managed to claim before the Leeds man could latch onto the rebound. As both sides began to make changes to their respective line-ups, Hennessey blocked as Sam burst into the box with the referee ignoring appeals for hands after the ball bounced up onto ~Jody Craddock. Shane Higgs pulled off a great save to keep out Kevin Doyle's shot on the turn after a fine piece of work from the impressive Fletcher, but four minutes from the end Johnson made the game safe for Leeds as he headed home following a free-kick from Kilkenny.
Leeds: Schmeichel (Higgs 61), Connolly (Hughes 78), Collins (Bromby 78), Naylor (capt) (Bruce 61), Gradel (Grella 78), Kilkenny, Becchio (Somma 61), Sam (White 78), Howson, Johnson, Bessone. Unused sub: Lees.
Wolves; Hennessey, Zubar (Halford 81), Van Damme (Ward 61), Jones, Berra, Craddock, Guedioura (Edwards 61), Henry (capt), Ebanks-Blake (Doyle 78), Fletcher (Foley 86), Jarvis (Keogh 78). Unused subs: Ikeme, Elokobi, Stearman.

Reading 2 (Sigurdsson-pen 10, Antonio 71) Wolves 1 (Jones 80)
Dann y Batth excelled in this defeat. A lackadaisical first half from Wolves - an especially poor tug on Kebe by Stears after his own mistake gave away a penalty - a silly thing to do, obviously not remembering his escapade last season which saw him sent off. Otherwise he wasn’t too bad. Carl Ikeme had a very good tunrnout in goal while Asley Hemmings looked dangerous up front but Federici in the Reading goal pretty well had nothing to do. No service for Doyle was reminiscient of too many matches last season. When Jarvo came on, things certainly got a lot more lively and his tap tp Jonesy for his goal was a training ground move which really came off (but now shown to the opposition). Greg Halford has apparently been told by Mick he needs to excel in the PSFs or be sold - looks like he's on his way! Hill too!
Wolves suffered their first defeat of the pre-season campaign losing out by 2-1 to Reading at The Madejski Stadium. After conceding a goal in each half, the Molineux men hit back with a Dave Jones strike but ran out of time as they searched for an equaliser. Kevin Doyle received a warm welcome back from the home supporters whilst Nenad Milijaš made his first appearance since his return from the World Cup. And the Serb got in the first goal attempt of the game when he ran on to Kevin Foley's square pass and let fly from 25-yards. His shot packed plenty of power but it flew straight to Adam Federici in the home goal. Wolves fell behind in the 10th minute after a mistake by Richard Stearman. His header back to Carl Ikeme was short and Jimmy Kebe ran in to intercept only to be pulled back by the defender. The referee pointed straight to the spot and Gylfi Sigurdsson lashed the penalty into the net. Sam Vokes just failed to control a cross from Milijaš as Wolves looked to hit back and after Sigurdsson had tested Ikeme with a snapshot from 20-yards, Adlene Guedioura was narrowly wide with a shot on the turn after a corner from Milijaš. Reading almost stretched their lead in the 24th minute after Foley had headed behind a Kebe centre. Sigurdsson took the corner and Alex Pearce ran in to power a close range header that was pawed off the line by Ikeme. The ball went back to Pearce but his second header was too high. Four minutes before the break Guedioura's cross was headed out to Karl Henry whose first time hooked shot was high and wide of the target.
Half-Time: Reading 1 Wolves 0
Mick McCarthy made five changes for the start of the new half and, within a minute, three of them combined to al most conjure up an equaliser. Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis both had efforts scrambled away by the keeper and a defender after a teaser cross from Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. After Jarvis had been tripped by Andy Griffin just to the left of the home area, he flicked the ball up for Jones to volley a cross that Fletcher bullet headed over the bar. Jake Taylor was a 54th minute substitute for Reading and he was soon testing Ikeme with an angled drive that the keeper did well to turn away. Both sides continued to make changes and seconds after a double switch by the home team, they moved into a two goal lead. Griffin fired a free-kick into the Wolves area and Noel Hunt, one of the new introductions, flicked the ball on for Michail Antonio to convert at the far post. Taylor made a last ditch tackle on Jarvis who had raced into the box and was preparing to shoot, before Wanderers finally found the target with just ten minutes remaining. Jarvis was fouled between the corner flag and penalty area and he rolled the free-kick to Jones who controlled the ball before drilling a low shot into the bottom corner. In the time that remained Alex McCarthy, on as a substitute in the home goal, was rarely tested as Reading held on for the win.
Reading: Federici (McCarthy 77), Griffin, Mills (capt), Pearce, Williams, Gunnarsson (Tabb 61), Karacan (Church 77), Sigurdsson (Taylor 54), Kebe (Antonio 61), McAnuff (Robson-Kanu 71), Long (Hunt 71). Unused sub: Howard.
Wolves: Ikeme, Foley (Zubar 45), Elokobi, Henry (capt) (Davis 82), Batth (Winnall 82), Stearman (Hill 61), Milijaš (Jones 45), Hemmings (Jarvis 45), Vokes (Fletcher 45), Doyle (Ebanks-Blake 45), Guedioura (Halford 69). Unused subs: McCarey, Keogh.
Referee: I. Williamson. Attendance: 6,628 (813 visiting supporters)
Mick's Reaction from Wolves Boss Mick McCarthy admitted it will not do Wolves any harm to have had their "wings clipped" by defeat at Reading last night - and hailed the performances of Danny Batth and Ashley Hemmings as major positives of the 2-1 defeat. Wolves suffered their first reverse of pre-season at the Madesjki Stadium, albeit improving after five half time changes and finishing strongly after David Jones' precise finish pulled a goal back ten minutes from time. An equaliser wouldn't come, but the boss, amid the disappointment, believes the result won't do any major damage coming on the back of a hat trick of pre-season victories. "I never like to lose but maybe it's not a bad thing," said Mick. "If you go through the pre-season winning all your games everyone thinks you're wonderful but we know we're not now. "I don't need a reminder of that but maybe it's a nice reminder to everyone else. We've had a nice pre-season ticking along and winning all our games but Reading away is not a nice easy fixture to have - just ask Liverpool. It's a difficult test and they are well organised with some good players, an accomplished team who played well and deserved to win. They were playing against a Premier League team and it certainly motivated them and the fans love to beat a Premier League team. And remember we lost to MK Dons and Port Vale last year. It was quite an even game to start with but we gave a penalty away which always sets you back. There was some decent stuff in the game and in the second half when we made the subs if we'd got a goal soon in it could have been different. It's clipped our wings a little bit and in a way I'm pleased that it has. So while I'm smarting that we've been beat it doesn't do us any harm that we've been brought back down to earth."And the performances of the youngsters - Sam Winnall and David Davis also came off the bench late on - certainly caught the manager's eye. "It was a step up in pace, power and quality from the games that we've had," he added. "And I thought the two young lads were great. Danny Batth was excellent - as good as anyone on the pitch - and Ashley did well and it was nice for David Davis and Sam to come on. It's been really encouraging to have the young lads coming through. I felt a bit for Andy Keogh because he's travelled but wanted to give the kids a chance and 10 minutes would mean more to them." Mick explained David Edwards' absence from proceedings having initially named him in his starting eleven. The midfielder has suffered a reaction to an insect bite on his shoulder which has caused an infection and went home from the training ground yesterday morning. The boss was again asked about the possibility of any new signings, and re-iterated the message that players need to leave before even discussing the prospect of bringing anyone else in. "I'm not looking at all at the moment," he said. "We need to lose some players rather than take any more in and certainly won't do any more business unless anyone leaves. I'm delighted with the guys I got in. The disappointment is that Steven Mouyokolo has been injured but he's training again now and might be o-k for the weekend. And we knew the situation with Hunty and with his ability I'm delighted to have got him in."
Charleroi 1 (Tormena 59) Wolves 2 (Doyle 52, Edwards 83)
Wolves had to work hard for their friendly victory over Charleroi but headed goals from Kevin Doyle and Dave Edwards, both after long throws from Greg Halford, made it three wins out of three in eight days for the Molineux men. There were around 300 Wolves supporters behind Carl Ikeme's goal as the hosts kicked-off on a cloudless evening.
In the opening four minutes Charleroi had two half chances but Cyril Thereau's angled drive and Alessandro Cordaro's header presented little trouble for Ikeme. The first corner of the game went Wolves way but home keeper Cyprien Baguette punched clear and he did likewise moments later, taking the ball off the head of Sam Vokes after a cross from Matt Jarvis. From another Jarvis centre, Stephen Ward was well wide with a header and after Massimo Moia had fouled Jarvis a yard to the right of the home area, Baguette used his fists again to clear a driven, angled free-kick from Dave Jones. A slip by Jody Craddock almost presented Charleroi with the opening goal. The defender trod on the ball allowing Thereau to break clear but, from the edge of the box, he shot wide. The Belgian team were awarded a free-kick just outside the Wolves box and Peter Franquart hit a terrific curling shot that was inches too high. Seconds later, as play swung to the other end, Vokes sent a first-time volley high and wide. In the 27th minute a powerful header from Vokes drew a full length save from Baguette but the corner conceded, taken by Jarvis, came to nothing. Christophe Berra went into the book for an untidy challenge on Orlando Dossantoscosta and, after Baguette had 'lost' a long throw from Jelle Van Damme resulting in a scramble in the home box before the ball was eventually cleared, Naim Aarab was yellow carded for a foul on Vokes.
Half-Time: Charleroi 0 Wolves 0
Mick McCarthy made eight changes for the start of the second-half with just Ikeme, Craddock and Berra continuing. Wolves moved ahead in the 52nd minute with a simple but effective piece of play. Halford launched one of his long throws into the home area and Doyle slipped his marker to bullet a header past Baguette (pictured). Sadly, two yellow flares were then tossed onto the pitch from the area behind the goal occupied by the travelling fans. Charleroi drew level in the 59th minute when the Wolves defence failed to deal with Cordaro's low cross and Ederson Tormena ran in to convert at the far post. Adekanmi Olufade, on as a substitute for just two minutes, almost gave his side the lead with a close range header but Ikeme made a fine save to deny the striker. Berra needed treatment for what appeared to be a nosebleed before another flare was tossed onto the pitch. Both teams then had a chance within a few seconds - Sylvan Ebanks-Blake prodding the ball a foot wide of the far post, before Jeremy Serwy drove over the bar from the 18-yard line as Charleroi threatened. Ikeme had to be at his best to keep out a free-kick from Herve Kage and, after a probing run, Adlene Guedioura fed Andy Keogh on the left and his cross resulted in a diving header from Ebanks-Blake that was deflected behind. The winning goal arrived in the 83rd minute and it was almost a carbon copy of Wolves first as Edwards nodded in from close range after another long throw from Halford.

Tuesday July 20th 7:45pm Walsall 0-4 WW (Hemmings 11, Vokes 37, 43, Ebanks-Blake 66)
Wolves cruised to a comfortable victory in a friendly against near neighbours Walsall at The Banks's Stadium. ~Mick McCarthy used 22 players in the game with the goals coming from Ashley Hemmings, Nathan Ebanks-Blake and Sam Vokes who netted a brace.
The visitors started strongly and home keeper Jonny Brain had to move sharply to block from Vokes after the ball had broken to the Welsh striker inside the home area. Dave Edwards ballooned a shot high and wide after he had played a one-two with Ebanks-Blake who, moments later, laid a perfect ball into the path of Richard Stearman who wasn't far away with a 25-yards drive. But the intense pressure on The Saddlers rearguard had to pay off and it did in the 11th minute as 19-year-old Hemmings ran in at the back post to beat Brain all ends up with a powerful header after a precision cross from the right from Greg Halford. Hemmings's persistence almost rewarded him with a second when he won possession outside the home area and rode a tackle before firing narrowly over the bar. In the 18th minute Hemmings lifted a cross over that Halford hooked into the side netting and then, in a rare Walsall goal attempt, Clayton McDonald headed tamely wide following Matt Richards's free-kick. There was a chance for Troy Deeney after Steve Jones had guided a low cross into his path but Scott Malone read the situation and ran across to boot the ball clear in a nick of time. Richard Taundry then hit a shot narrowly off target before Wolves went two up in the 37th minute. Malone took the ball to the by-line before delivering a low cross that was flicked into the net from close range by Vokes. Vokes made it three just six minutes later as he ran on to Hemmings's header and took the ball around Brain before slipping it into the net. Just before the break Paul Marshall's well struck shot curled narrowly wide.
Half-Time: Walsall 0 Wolves 3
Four minutes after the resumption Danny Batth headed over following a Malone free-kick and then Manny Smith denied Halford by blocking the midfielder's goalbound shot following a cross from Edwards. Midway through the half Ebanks-Blake, who had looked sharp throughout, added a fourth as he sprinted into the right of The Saddlers box and held off a challenge from Oliver Lancashire before lashing an angled shot inside the far post. Two minutes later Wolves boss McCarthy made a mass substitution replacing ten players with John Dunleavy, a replacement for Stearman a few minutes earlier, the only man to remain on the field. Kevin Doyle looked on for a goal when he ran onto Matt Jarvis's centre but a defender blocked in the six-yard box. Then, when Brain blocked a drive from Dave Jones, Doyle swooped onto the loose ball only for the Walsall keeper to save at close range. Doyle was in the thick of things and he had another opportunity after Steven Fletcher had slipped a pass to him but this time he shot wide. Walsall almost grabbed a consolation but Deeney's header was a foot too high after Steve Jones had supplied a fine cross from the left.

2: Early chance for Wolves thanks to good work from Foley and backheel from Stearman for Ebanks-Blake but his shot from the angle is blocked.
4: Wolves have started well. Malone involved and the ball breaks to Vokes whose through on the left hand side but his attempt is diverted wide by Walsall's debutant keeper Brain.
5: Wolves fans filling the stand opposite the dugouts. As well as the stand behind one of the goals. Well over half of the overall attendance. A lone Vuvuzela can be heard at the ground. Will it survive?!
6: The entire first six minutes all played in Walsall's half.
10: Still all Wolves. Edwards plays a one-two with Ebanks-Blake before shooting over and now Ebanks-Blake finds Stearman in space on the right. The defender advances purposefully before drilling a powerful shot not far wide of the target.
11: GOAL: HEMMINGS 0-1. And you have to say that's been coming. Great cross by Halford to the back post and clinically finished off with a header from Hemmings.
15: A decent run from goalscorer Hemmings before he tries a shot which is just high and wide.
16: And it's Hemmings again with an effort from distance but it's further off target this time. Looking very bright though is Hemmings.
18: This time it's Hemmings with a cross from the left which is met by Halford on the stretch at the far post but the midfielder hooks the ball into the side netting from a difficult angle.
24: Ebanks-Blake has looked sharp in the early exchanges and breaks through down the right but his attempted pass for Edwards is slightly too strong.
25: First real opening for Walsall after Stearman goes through a Walsall player on the left. Richards sends the free kick to the back post where it's met by McDonald but although he climbs to win the header it's wide of the target.
32: Stoppage to allow Elokobi to get treatment sees a few of the players take on drinks. And from the restart Jones does well on the left and his cross is destined for Deeney until Malone nips in to whip the ball off his toes.
33: This is Walsall's best spell and Taundry now sends in a cross which Nicholls can't direct goalwards. The Saddlers enjoying some possession now.
36: Taundry now goes close himself for Walsall. Wins the ball with a fine tackle in midfield and then sends in a long range effort which isn't far wide of Ikeme's left hand post
37: GOAL: VOKES 0-2. Wolves respond to Walsall's best spell by going up the other end and doubling their lead. Good left wing cross from Malone is met at the near post by Vokes with a neat finish.
~

40: Wolves chairman ~Steve Morgan in attendance this evening. Took his seat earlier with son Red near Wolves director John Gough.
~
43: GOAL: VOKES 0-3. Wolves extend their lead and it's Vokes again. The striker nips in to latch onto a defensive back-header which doesn't reach the keeper and rounds keeper Brain before slotting home.
45: One minute added time to follow.
45+1: Marshall with a glimmer of an opening for Walsall but his curling shot is wide of the far post.
HALF TIME: WALSALL 0-3 WOLVES
46: Back underway.
~
49: Straight from the Development team's training ground as Malone swings in a free kick from the right and Batth meets it with a header narrowly over the bar.
53: Walsall's first attack of note of the half sees Taundry fire over with a half volley from a difficult chance.
59: First chance for Wolves. Stearman, who played the majority of Saturday's game after coming on for Zubar, is replaced by John Dunleavy.
61: Good chance for Wolves. Edwards sends in a cross to the back post and Halford meets it on the volley but it bounces off Smith for a Wolves corner.
62: Corner is dealt with by Walsall but Wolves win another immediately.
63: And now another flag kick after Batth's header comes off Deeney and wide.
63: And here's another one! Malone's inswinger is cleared out but his attempt to return the ball goes out for another corner.
64: And this time Ebanks-Blake's backheader is inches over the bar.
64: Double change for Walsall, Lancashire and Byfield for McDonald and Nicholls.
66: GOAL: EBANKS-BLAKE 0-4. Superb goal from Ebanks-Blake. The striker gets on the end of Halford's flick-on down the right and shows all his power to hold off Lancashire before firing low into the bottom corner.
~
~
67: And now ten substitutions for Wolves with Ikeme and the nine outfield starters replaced. On come McCarey, Craddock, Berra, Van Damme, Winnall, Henry, Jones, Jarvis, Doyle and Fletcher.

71: First thumping tackle from Van Damme boosts the atmosphere even more!
72: Another switch for Walsall, Stokes on for Westlake.
72: "Super Mick McCarthy" from the Wolves fans behind the goal. The boss responds.
74: Lovely incisive Wolves move featuring Henry, Jones, Dunleavy, Winnall and Jarvis ends with a cross to Doyle. The striker takes a touch but can't quite catch the shot properly.
74: Jones tries a shot which is blocked by Brain and the keeper then gets up to thwart Doyle from the follow-up as well.
75: The Wolves substitutes are in the groove as much as the starters were and Jones heads back Jarvis's cross for Doyle who sidesteps a defender before his effort deflected out.
76: Winnall sends in the corner, met by Berra, but over.
76: Another change for the Saddlers, Geddes on for Richards.
78: More neat Wolves attacking with Fletcher involved and Doyle turns before firing a low drive narrowly wide.
79: Rare respite for Walsall with a decent attack. Jones sends in a cross and Deeney heads just over.
81: Little bit of afters between Berra and Deeney after the Wolves defender took exception to a late challenge. The pair had also had a dabble a few minutes earlier.
83: And Deeney is now replaced by Grigg.
86: Crowd is 4, 963. Wolves element of that is 2, 624.
87: Geddes shoots from distance - McCarey takes it cleanly.
89: Switch for Walsall, Paterson on for Jones.
90: Two minutes added time to follow.

Wolves enjoyed a comfortable victory over Bohemian at Dalymount Park with ~Jody Craddock, Stephen Fletcher and Geoffrey Mujangi Bia all on target in what was a competitive friendly. There was an early scare for the visitors as Aaron Greene worked a shooting position for himself just inside the area only to fire wastefully over the bar. Jelle Van Damme and Fletcher, both playing their first game in the club's colours, combined on the left but the Belgian's cross was cleared. Wolves moved ahead in the sixth minute as Craddock powered a header home following a corner from Dave Jones. ~Andy Keogh wasn't far away with a 25-yard drive as Wolves continued to press and then Jones shot wide after Matt Jarvis had drilled in a low cross. Ronald Zubar was replaced by Richard Stearman in the 21st minute after the French defender took a knock in clearing from his own area. He looked in a lot of pain but was able to limp from the pitch after treatment. Bohs almost drew level as the half reached its midway point but Jason Byrne's glancing header from Lee Dixon's cross landed on the roof of the net. ~Wayne Hennessey had to get his body behind a well struck effort from Matt Doherty before Jarvis beat two men in the Bohs box and curled a shot inches wide of the far post. Home keeper Chris O'Connor punched away a Jones shot after Keogh had teed the ball up from a free-kick on the edge of the area. Then Fletcher showed his skills when he sprinted past two defenders and hit an angled shot that was flew just a foot wide.
Half-Time: Bohemian 0 Wolves 1
Four minutes after the restart Fletcher was denied by a tremendous save from O'Connor who turned over the striker's powerful shot. The Jones-Craddock corner combination almost worked again but this time a flick header was taken by the keeper on the line. Then it was the turn of the industrious Kevin Doyle to have a stab at goal but his header following a Jarvis free-kick flashed wide. Bohs almost drew level on the hour mark but Gary Burke's header was just too high after Dixon had fired in the cross. Moments later Fletcher opened his account with a fierce effort into the top corner of the net after Jarvis had pulled the ball into his path. Fletcher almost got a second in the 66th minute but under pressure from Orrin Farrell he only succeeded in diverting Jarvis's driven cross over the bar from point blank range. After a Doyle shot was cleared off the line by Jason McGuinness, ~Mick McCarthy made a mass substitution making eight changes. And two of the new men almost fashioned a third goal with Greg Halford's cross being headed just the wrong side of the post by Sam Vokes.
