Saturday 29th October 3pm ko Manchester City v Wolves
Manchester City 3 (Dzeko 52, Kolarov 66, Johnson 90+1) Wolves 1 (Hunt-pen75)
Despite a valiant effort, Wolves were finally beaten by League leaders Manchester City although the big spenders had to wait until stoppage time before they finally made the game safe. City kicked-off attacking the end of the ground that housed the travelling support and within a minute they had won a corner that was taken by Aleksandar Kolarov. The ball was half cleared by Karl Henry to Samir Nasri 20-yards out and it took a fingertip save from Wayne Hennessey to prevent a perfect start for the home team. There was a chance for Wolves after seven minutes when Stephen Hunt fed Kevin Doyle in the left of the City area, but the striker's angled shot was wide of the far post. Sergio Aguero fired high and wide after taking a return pass from David Silva then Roger Johnson's attempted clearance from Micah Richards' low cross fell invitingly at Edin Dzeko's feet but he lifted the ball over the angle. Adlene Guedioura dragged a 22-yard drive well wide before former Villa man Gareth Barry was booked after a late challenge on Jamie O'Hara. Aguero looked odds on to open the scoring when he burst through the middle but Hennessey made a tremendous save to deny the City hit man. On 25 minutes Aguero missed an easy chance from eight-yards as he blasted the ball wide after Richards' low centre ran through to him. At the other end O'Hara was high and wide with a shot on the run from just outside the area. There was another moment of danger after Guedioura had lost possession in midfield. Nasri raced to the edge of the box before delivering a cross that fell to Silva at the far post. He wasted little time in getting his shot away but he was thwarted by Richard Stearman who bravely threw himself in front of the ball to block. Three minutes before the break it took another stunning save from Hennessey to keep matters on a level footing. Silva released Dzeko who was unmarked as he ran through but Hennessey thrust out a hand to divert the ball just wide of the post. Half-Time: City 0 Wolves 0
Three minutes after the restart, Nasri fired in a cross and Silva hooked the ball wide as he attempted to convert at the near post. Doyle was yellow carded for pulling at Joleon Lescott's shirt before City moved into a 50th minute lead after a mistake by Hennessey. It was a cruel blow for the keeper who had done so much in keeping Wolves in the game. He delayed his clearance allowing Aguero to block and the ball rolled perfectly into the path of Dzeko who turned into the vacant net from just outside the box. Wolves responded with an O'Hara shot that was off target and then Dzeko went into the book after a foul on Johnson - one too many for the referee. Aguero fired hopelessly wide from a good position after he had taken a return pass from Silva but, midway through the half, City increased their lead. Hennessey could only turn away Silva's low centre and Kolarov pounced on the loose ball to score from close in. Both sides made changes and after Adam Hamill replaced Dave Edwards, Mario Balotelli was a popular replacement for Nasri with the home support. The Italian's first contribution was to blaze a shot high over the bar after Aguero had back-heeled the ball into his path. With a quarter of an hour remaining, Wanderers halved the deficit. Joe Hart couldn't hold on to s stinging long-range Guedioura drive and as Doyle homed in on the loose ball, he was fouled by Vincent Kompany. After pointing to the spot the referee then brandished the red card at the City skipper before Hunt sent Joe Hart the wrong way with the penalty. The visitors pushed forward in the hope of snatching an equaliser and with five minutes remaining, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Matt Jarvis were sent on for Guedioura and Hunt. But City sealed the win in the first minute of stoppage time. Balotelli broke from inside his own half and found Toure who laid the ball off for City substitute Michael Johnson and he curled a shot just inside the post from 22-yards.

Dzeko 52 Kolarov 66 Hunt (pen) 75 Johnson 90+1
Manchester City survived a nervy 16 minutes playing with 10 men to beat Wolves and maintain their five-point lead at the top of the table. Edin Dzeko put City ahead after an error from Wayne Hennessey, who was then unable to hold David Silva's shot, with Aleksandar Kolarov slotting home. Vincent Kompany was sent off after conceding a penalty that was converted by Stephen Hunt to give Wolves hope. But Adam Johnson's curling shot in stoppage time clinched the points. The win keeps City clear of second-placed Manchester United, who earlier on Saturday had beaten Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park. If City never quite reached the heights of their 6-1 demolition of United, then Roberto Mancini's side should still have had this game safe long before Johnson restored their two-goal advantage. Given City had scored 11 goals in their previous two games - including five against Wolves in their midweek Carling Cup meeting - the visitors could have been forgiven for approaching Saturday's game with trepidation. In fact, there was no suggestion of that, although Wolves deployed men behind the ball to stifle the league leaders in a first-half that proved very frustrating for City. That Wolves reached half-time on level terms had much to do with the ultimately luckless Hennessey, who was in action in the opening minute to tip away Samir Nasri's shot following a City corner. That was one of three superb saves Hennessey made in the opening 45 minutes, the best of which was from Dzeko, who had been released by a slick interchange involving Silva and Sergio Aguero. At times Hennessey rode his luck - notably when he was unable to hold a Dzeko cross - while the Wolves keeper was also helped by some off-key City finishing, notably when Aguero put the ball wide after he had been set up by Micah Richards. However all Hennessey's good work went to waste on 52 minutes when he dawdled on the ball. Aguero was quick to block Hennessey's attempted clearance and the ball bounced kindly to Dzeko, who had the simplest of tasks to put City ahead. Midway through the second half Wolves found themselves 2-0 behind after Hennessey was unable to hold a Silva shot and the ball fell to the Serb Kolarov who volleyed home. That should have been that, but Hart caught a dose of the Hennessey wobbles and spilled Adlene Guedioura's long-range shot. Kevin Doyle reacted more quickly than Kompany and the Belgian defender hauled down the Wolves striker to concede a penalty and earn himself a red card. Hunt sent Hart the wrong way with his spot-kick, but Wolves were never really to threaten the City keeper again despite their numerical superiority. And in the first minute of stoppage time, Johnson's beautifully judged curling shot ensured City's deserved victory. Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini: "It is impossible to always score four or five goals. I don't know how many chances we had in the first half, but their goalkeeper saved everything. But in the second half I think we played very well. After the Manchester United win I don't want us to think that every game will be easy. This does not exist in football, in every game you must give 100% because in any moment the game can change. After the sending-off it was very difficult."
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy: "We played well. We had to defend in the first-half and Wayne Hennessey made a couple of magnificent saves. You can imagine how he feels. He is as good as any goalkeeper in this league and it is such a shame it has cost us. I'm disappointed we haven't got anything and we let them off the hook. It was set up for us to get something."

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is expected to revert to the side that thrashed Manchester United, having made 11 changes for the midweek Carling Cup win over Saturday's opponents Wolves. Owen Hargreaves is again ruled out with a minor calf problem. Wolves must make do without Steven Fletcher for a third successive league game due to a calf problem. Ronald Zubar and Kevin Foley remain sidelined with respective groin and ankle injuries.
MATCH PREVIEW
When a match looks as one-sided as this does, it sometimes goes the other way. But I must emphasise that it is only sometimes!Of course, this looks like a comfortable home win. City have scored 11 goals in two matches, five of them against Wolves at Molineux in the Carling Cup on Wednesday, and they will be looking to pile on the agony for Mick McCarthy and his side.
You have to disregard City's 5-2 win at Wolves in the Carling Cup as a pointer for this weekend as both clubs played their fringe players
However, Wolves proved stubborn opponents for City last season. I saw the Premier League game at Molineux when Wolves won 2-1, and they caused City problems despite a 4-3 defeat in the reverse fixture. Wolves can only gain encouragement form those two performances.McCarthy has been suffering at the hands of Wolves' supporters but there is no doubt that the players are right behind him. Win on Saturday, and the fans will soon be chanting his name! The more significant game for Wolves might be next weekend when they play at home to Wigan.I'm surprised Wolves have gone on such a poor run. It might now be a matter of confidence; they keep conceding the first goal and so are playing matches on the back foot. Not so City, who are scoring for fun and in David Silva have an early contender for Footballer of the Year. City have done well to not let the Carlos Tevez issue affect their form and a five-point lead at the top shows they are the real deal. My only reservation is that, despite all their great players, it is still a position that's new to most of them. It is too early to say they are the clear title favourites. MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
Manchester City are unbeaten at home in the Premier League against Wolves (W2, D1). Wolves last won at City in August 1999 in a second-tier meeting. Wolves lead the overall head-to-head by 46 wins to 43, with 24 draws.
Manchester City
Robert Mancini's side have taken 34 points out of the last possible 36. The league leaders have scored 33 goals, the most by any top-flight team after nine matches since the 19th century. Twenty-five of the 33 goals have come in the second half. City's 6-1 demolition of Manchester United last Sunday equalled their club record for most goals scored in a Premier League match. Mario Balotelli has scored five goals from just seven shots on target in the Premier League this season. David Silva has created the most scoring chances from open play (28) than any other player in the Premier League this season. Micah Richards is set to make his 200th appearance for the club, and his 150th in the Premier League.
Wolves
Wolves, who led the Premier League in August, are winless in seven matches. They ended a run of five successive defeats with the 2-2 draw at home to Swansea last weekend. Despite their poor run of form, Wolves have gained an unsurpassed four points from losing positions this season. They have lost all four matches this season against top-half opposition. They have not scored a league goal earlier than the 40th minute since the opening day of the season, when Steven Fletcher scored after 22 minutes against Blackburn. Christophe Berra could make his 200th career league start.
Wednesday 26th October 7.45pm ko Wolves 2 (Milijaš 18, O'Hara 65) Man City 5 (Johnson 36, Nasri 39, Dzeko 40, 64, De Vries-og 50) Carling Cup 4th
An important performance as Wolves compete for the whole 95 minutes, show some design and get away from the awful performances we've seen since the start of that last match aganst Blackburn last season. Again, dubious refereering marred the opening 20 minutes when Wolves hould have gone two up against 1- men - Savic should have been booked twice and an astonishingly obvious handball went "unnoticed" by the lino. Although the defence were heavily outclassed they still performed better than the first choices on Saturday against a much less talented team. Wardy was made Captain in spite of Craddock's return and again put in a good claim for Man of the Match, even prompting serious criticism of Adam Johnson's performance by Mancini for not tracking Wardy's run. Up front Hunty showed how out of form he is while Doyler looked quite jaded. But they tried, Sam Vokes ran miles and put pressure on again, while Nenad scored a terrific goal. City obviously took their feet off the pedal and it was their second string (Nasri etc..) but a much better result for Mick and a very supportive Molineux... apart from the score. Sky very nicely started their coverage with JR as their WW pundit with MIke Summerbee and the 1974 League Cup Final action.
Plucky Wolves were undone by a clinical Manchester City side that rattled in five goals to end any Carling Cup aspirations that were held at Molineux. Either side of City's nap hand, Nenad Milijaš opened the scoring and Jamie O'Hara grabbed a consolation. Just two of the 11 that began against Swansea were named to start against City - Stephen Ward, who was named as captain for the first time, and Kevin Doyle. Wolves kicked-off attacking the South Bank end and Mick McCarthy's men made a lively start to the game with visiting keeper Costel Pantilimon taking a driven cross from Stephen Hunt and Aleksandar Kolarov heading clear Ward's ball into the heart of the six-yard box. Stefan Savic went into the book after barging Hunt off the ball just outside the City box. Milijaš took the free-kick but his effort hit the wall and ballooned out for a corner that was taken by Hunt and cleared. Wolves continued to press and Dave Edwards headed narrowly over the bar after connecting with Hunt's cross from the left. Then Kolarov was lucky not to concede a penalty when the ball went behind off his arm. But Wanderers shocked City by taking the lead in the 18th minute. Sam Vokes raced past Kolo Toure on the right before hitting a low cross that Milijaš lashed into the roof of the net after the ball bounced to him off Adlene Guedioura. Jody Craddock was shown the yellow card for a challenge on Edin Dzeko and Kolarov blasted the free-kick high into the North Bank. Dzeko's through ball put Abdul Razak clean through and he looked certain to equalise until George Elokobi got in a superb last ditch tackle. The defender was hurt making the challenge and he was only able to resume after treatment. The City threat was growing and Luca Scapuzzi fired wide after he had controlled a pass from Kolarov. For Wolves, Guedioura was well wide with a shot on the run from 25-yards but then the visitors stunned the home fans with three goals in a four minute spell. First to strike was Adam Johnson in the 36th minute. He took a ball from Dzeko and hammered a tremendous shot past Dorus De Vries. Then Johnson turned provider sliding a pass through for Samir Nasri to beat the offside trap and slot the ball into the corner of the net from just inside the box. Seconds later it was three. Scapuzzi met Kolarov's cross at the near post and although De Vries managed to block, Dzeko rifled the ball into the roof of the net. Dzeko couldn't quite reach another Kolarov cross when a touch was all that was needed, and the half ended with Gudioura shooting over the far angle after Hunt had touched a free-kick to him.
Half-Time: Wolves 1 City 3
Three minutes after the resumption Hunt volleyed wide after an Elokobi cross landed at his feet. But City swept upfield to increase their lead although there was a bit of good fortune about their fourth goal. Kolarov sped into the area and pulled the ball back for Dzeko whose low shot was saved by De Vries. Scapuzzi got a touch and Edwards cleared off the line only for the ball to bounce into the net off De Vries' head. The keeper then made a great save as Dzeko burst through the middle and, at the other end, Pantilimon failed to hold onto to Gudioura's long range rocket but a defender was there to tidy up. In the 64th minute Dzeko made it five when Scapuzzi's pace left the striker with the easiest of tasks in netting. Wolves made a double switch with 64 minutes gone with O'Hara and Adam Hammill coming on for Milijaš and Doyle. And, within seconds of his introduction, O'Hara pulled a goal back with a neat finish after Ward had played a one-two with Hunt and struck a low cross back from the by-line. Although the game was beyond them at this stage, Wolves refused to throw the towel in and O'Hara nearly added a second to his tally with a volley that was deflected just wide. A great run from Stephen Ward took him from the halfway line into the City area. He hit a low shot that Pantilimon needed two attempts to cling on to. As the game neared its conclusion O'Hara had a shot saved at the near post, Hammill wasn't far away with a long range daisy cutter, and Pantilimon did well to beat away another effort from O'Hara. But Wolves were beaten by a star studded City side currently playing at the top of its game.

Manchester City reached the last eight of the Carling Cup after their lethal attack made light work of Wolves. Wolves took a shock lead when Nenad Milijas smashed in before Adam Johnson equalised from the edge of the area. It was 3-1 four minutes later when Johnson's ball was tucked home by Samir Nasri before Edin Dzeko tapped in. A Dorus De Vries own goal extended the lead and Dzeko turned in the fifth before Wolves' Jamie O'Hara converted Stephen Ward's ball from the left. Five more goals from City meant that the Manchester club have scored 15 goals in their last three games. They started poorly though as Wolves took the lead before the game was turned on its head in four madcap first-half minutes. On Sunday, Man City scored three goals in the space of 237 seconds, against Wolves they scored three in 230. Mick McCarthy's men looked more potent during much of the first 45, with David Edwards heading over from two yards before Milijas hammered his side into the lead with 18 minutes on the clock. City then stepped up their performance which up until the 37th minute seemed to be basking in the afterglow of their 6-1 win at Old Trafford. Without rested central idfield maestro David Silva, City relied on the flanks to provide the threat. It was Kolarov, on the right, who provided the cross which led to the equaliser. Dzeko controlled the delivery in the area and laid the ball back to Johnson who let fly from the edge of the area. Almost straight from the restart, City were ahead. This time, Johnson played quarterback with a pass that split the Wolves defence and found Nasri who slid his shot past De Vries. The turnaround was complete moments later when Johnson swung in a cross from the right and found youngster Luca Scapuzzi. The Italian's shot from two yards was blocked by Wolves stopper De Vries but the follow-up was stuck in by Dzeko. If the fans inside Molineux thought the first half was entertaining they were in for another 'goalfest' after the break. City extended their lead with five minutes of the half played when Scapuzzi pounced on a rebound from Nasri's shot to tuck in from two yards out. However, the 20-year-old's strike was later given as a De Vries own goal with the ball having crept in off the body of the keeper. City's fifth came shortly after and it was arguably the best goal of game. Nasri played a one-two with Dzeko before finding Stefan Savic on the left of the area. The Montenegro player found Bosnia striker Dzeko who tapped in. Game over, but it was not the end of the entertainment. Wolves reduced the arrears a minute later when O'Hara converted from six yards out after he was fed by Stephen Ward. Several spills by City's stand-in keeper Costel Pantilimon meant that the visitors had to work hard up until the final whistle, but there were no more goals on what was a thrilling night of action.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy: "That was an abject lesson in finishing. But I was pleased with our performance. That sounds crazy when you've just been beaten by five, but I was happy. We started well, and deserved the lead. The fact we didn't hang on to the lead was nothing to do with defending badly. City are all top players. They won't be made to work harder than they were tonight, that's for sure." Live text and stats

Late goals from Kevin Doyle and Jamie O'Hara spared Wolves a sixth successive league defeat on Saturday, but under-pressure manager Mick McCarthy must now prepare his
struggling side for back-to-back games against Manchester City, who travel to Molineux on a high following their record-breaking 6-1 win at Manchester United. Continue reading the main story
It was tough but to get those two goals [against Swansea] shows we do have fighting spirit. Now hopefully things have turned
Wolves striker Kevin Doyle
Of the two matches, Saturday's Premier League trip to Eastlands is likely to be the more taxing.
City boss Roberto Mancini used many of his fringe players for the win against holders Birmingham in the previous round, and may be tempted to do the same against Wolves, who
last reached the quarter-finals in 1995-96.
Mancini and McCarthy have found their substitutions under the spotlight this season, but both made effective changes at the weekend. Many Wolves fans reacted with dismay
when McCarthy replaced wingers Adam Hammill and Matt Jarvis against Swansea, but that decision proved the catalyst for an unlikely comeback. Mancini's decision to introduce
Edin Dzeko at Old Traford helped City rub salt win United wounds, the Bosnian scoring twice in the closing stages. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head
Wolves have won two of their last three home games against Manchester City. They beat Manchester City in the 1974 League Cup final. The sides also met in the 1971-72, and 1987-88 seasons, with City progressing on each occasion.
Wolves
Mick McCarthy's men were knocked out of the Carling Cup by Manchester opposition last year, losing 3-2 to Manchester United in the fourth round. They have scored 17 goals in their last five games in this competition. Wolves have not reached the last eight of the League Cup since 1995-96. They have lost only one of their last 10 League Cup ties at Molineux, losing 3-1 to Morecambe in the second round in August 2007.
Manchester City
City have failed to make the quarter-finals in eight of the last 10 years. They have scored 40 goals in 14 matches this season (including the Community Shield). City have failed to score in only one of their last 19 League Cup games; the 2-0 home defeat to Spurs in the quarter-finals in December 2007. City won the League Cup in 1970 and 1976, and were runners-up in 1974.
Saturday 22nd October 12:45pm ko Wolves v Swansea (live on Sky)
Wolves 2 (Doyle 84, O'Hara 86) Swansea City 2 (Graham 23, Allen 35) A really awful first 75 minutes - Doyler said the dressing at half time had never been so depressed in his post match interview while Mick seemed to hit out at the fans who had consistently been booing and sang “you don’t know what you’re doing” when he made the two substitutions - when they patently worked with the third - Sammy Vokes setting up the first goal in the comeback. The fans will probably point to the previous 75 minutes though. The defence was sliced open easily by the Swans attack. Berra and in particular Capt Johnson were pulled all over the place which led to both goals and indeed many more chances with Wayne once again called on to make a load of saves. But Jarvis was one of the least effective players - Hammill doing a lot better - and he was needed to come off. In contrast, Karl Henry seemed to be unleashed. Perhaps the reaction would have been a lot diffeerent if his 45th second shot hadn’t been saved. Guedioura’s entry however was the cue for O’Hara to be able to get forward and Ward to rampage down the left. Swansea also probably paid the price for sitting back on their two goal lead, but in the end picked up their first away point of the season. Will Wolves be happy with a point - probably given where they were but they should bever have been there in the first place and a proper defender must be a January window priority.
By Owen Phillips BBC Sport Wolves staged a stunning late fightback to hold Swansea City to a draw and ease the pressure on manager Mick McCarthy. The hosts trailed 2-0 at the break and seemed certain to be heading for a sixth successive Premier League loss. Danny Graham slotted the visitors ahead from Mark Gower's clever, dinked pass and Joe Allen converted Graham's inviting
cross to make it 2-0. But Kevin Doyle's close-range shot gave Wolves hope and Jamie O'Hara's fierce strike denied Swansea victory. The visitors did at least claim their first away
point of the season but seemed certain to secure the win after outclassing Wolves for much of the game. McCarthy's men opted for two up front, with Doyle partnered by Sylvan
Ebanks-Blake as they looked to be positive despite their horrendous run. And although they could have led inside a minute when Karl Henry tested Michel Vorm with a fizzing half-
volley, the Swans dominated the midfield throughout with some slick passing and bright interplay and were great value for their half-time lead. Allen went close with a fine effort
from long range that was finger-tipped over by his Wales team-mate Wayne Hennessey and Graham then poked an effort just wide from an Angel Rangel cross. But the Swans did
not have to wait long to go ahead when Graham just about controlled Gower's pass and coolly knocked the ball under the keeper for his third goal in three league matches. A
bright Wolves start seemed a long way off as frustration among the home fans started to grow when Danny Graham slotted the visitors ahead from Mark Gower's clever dink ed
pass. Adam Hammill went close to levelling almost immediately with a 25-yard fine free-kick but the mood at Molineux started to move from anxiety to anger as Allen made it 2-0. The little midfielder timed his run into the box perfectly and swept the ball home first time from Graham's cross after a patient Swans move. Wolves almost reponded in the best
possible way after the interval as Henry sent a rasping strike just wide but that was about as good as it got until the final six minutes. Swansea continued to create chances, with
the lively wing duo of Nathan Dyer and Scott Sinclair to the fore. Sinclair was twice denied by Hennessey and the visitors spurned several other promising situations.
And they were made to pay when Wolves, boosted by the introduction of substitutes Nenad Milijas and Adlene Guedioura, helped inspire a remarkable comeback. Doyle's strike
made it 2-1 when the third home substitute Sam Voles saw his initial strike saved. And Doyle then raced away down the left flank to square the ball to O'Hara who smashed the
ball home to earn a precious point. Wolves saw it like this
A double substitution by Mick McCarthy sparked Wolves into life and two late goals against Swansea rescued a point when all seemed lost and the morale sapping losing run looked
likely to continue. There was just the one change to the home starting line up with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake returning in place of Nenad Milijaš who was named as a substitute as the
manager opted for a 4-4-2 formation. Wolves kicked-off attacking the South Bank end and after just 40 seconds Karl Henry struck a ferocious long range drive that bounced off Swansea keeper Michel Vorm before a
defender completed the clearance. Christophe Berra had to cut out a dangerous ball into the box from Nathan Dyer and then Joe Allen's 25-yard drive was touched over the bar by
Wayne Hennessey. In the tenth minute Danny Graham prodded the ball narrowly wide following a cross from Angel Rangel. Some neat interplay between Ebanks-Blake and Kevin
Doyle ended with the latter hitting a low cross that ran to Matt Jarvis. The winger was crowded out and couldn't get a shot in but he delivered a centre and, after Ebanks-Blake's
shot was blocked, Vorm turned away a volley from Jamie O'Hara who had latched onto the rebound. But, midway through the half, Swansea took the lead after Mark Gower had
pushed the ball through to Graham. At full stretch Roger Johnson just failed to get a foot to the ball and Gower shot past Hennessey from close range. It took a flying save from
Vorm to keep out Adam Hammill's free-kick after Gary Monk had fouled Doyle on the edge of the box and when Jarvis's corner fell to Hammill on the far side of the area, he volleyed
wide of the far post. Swansea won three corners in quick succession before there was a moment of hope for the home support after Monk had fouled Jarvis near the corner of the
City area. Hammill teed the ball up for O'Hara who flicked it into the air and hit a volley that was too close to Vorm to trouble the keeper. The jeers rang out around Molineux as
Swansea went two up on 35 minutes with Allen having the easiest of tasks in converting Graham's low cross. There was a chance when the ball broke to Berra after Johnson and
Vorm had challenged for Stephen Ward's deep cross into the box, but the defender fired high over the bar. Just before the break Hennessey parried a Scott Sinclair shot and
there was a moment's panic before the loose ball was eventually cleared.
Half-Time: Wolves 0 Swansea 2
Inside a minute of the new half, Richard Stearman was booked for tripping Neil Taylor on the left wing. Then Johnson got in a good tackle on Graham who looked likely to add a
third. Henry was wide with a drive from 25-yards and Allen, from a similar distance, drew a diving save from Hennessey at the other end. Jarvis was involved in the next two
Wolves attacks. His low centre found Ebanks-Blake whose shot on the turn was blocked on the edge of the six-yard box, and then the winger's header was wide of the mark after
Hammill had lifted the ball into the box. Then it was the Welsh team's turn to go close with Hennessey diving full length to cling onto a drive from Dyer before he had to help a
deflected effort from Sinclair onto the roof of the net. In between the two moves, O'Hara went into the book for a heavy challenge on Dyer. There were loud cheers when Milijaš
and Adlene Guedioura left the dug-out ready for action. But the cheers quickly turned to boos when Hammill and Jarvis were the players withdrawn. The cry of 'you don't know
what you're doing' was aimed at the Wolves manager. But the two new arrivals began to have an influence on proceedings and, after Hennessey made a fine near post save to
deny Sinclair, the game suddenly turned. Doyle reduced the deficit in the 84th minute when he netted from close range. Sam Vokes, for just a minute for Ebanks-Blake,
connected with O'Hara's corner and, when Vorm failed to hold his low shot, Doyle was there to net the rebound. Within two minutes it was all square as Doyle raced into the box
from the left and laid the ball into the path of O'Hara who rifled a shot into the roof of the net. It was all Wolves now and Milijaš almost grabbed with winner with a shot from 30-
yards that was deflected literally inches wide.

Wolves' Steven Fletcher is ruled out by a calf problem, while Kevin Foley and Ronald Zubar are also sidelined.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake may make his first league start of the season after recovering from a knee injury.
Swansea's Steven Caulker is out with a knee problem but fellow defender Vangelis Moras could make his debut after signing a short-term contract.
Stephen Dobbie (ankle), Alan Tate (broken leg) and Kemy Agustien (hamstring) are all ruled out. MATCH PREVIEW
Molineux was a much happier place the last time I was there. Wolves had just beaten Fulham 2-0 to go second in the table. It was 21 August, the sun was shining and there were
smiling faces everywhere.
They haven't won since. In fact, it's worse than that. Mick McCarthy's men have lost their last five games in a row. They're not in the bottom three yet but are certainly heading
that way unless they can arrest the slide. With trips to Manchester City, Everton and Chelsea on the horizon, now is as good a time as any to put the brakes on.
With top scorer Steven Fletcher still struggling with a calf problem, Sylvain Ebanks-Blake, just back from injury himself, could get his first Premier League start of the season.
Maybe he should remind the manager that he got both of Wolves's goals in their 2-1 win over Swansea three years ago. Alongside the workaholic Kevin Doyle, they might be able
to make a nuisance of themselves.
Especially as opponents Swansea boast (if that's the right word) the worst away record in the Premier League. Outside of Wales, it's four straight defeats. Yet to concede a goal
on home soil, they've been leaking goals aplenty on their travels.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the Swans again. I was fortunate enough to commentate on their play-off final win at Wembley and love their attractive style of play.
Everything is "to feet". Britton and Allen are so neat and tidy, and there's the trickery of Dyer and pace of Sinclair. Delightful. Now record signing Danny Graham has started scoring
things could get even better - if only they could learn how to keep a clean sheet over the border.
It's an early start (1245 BST) and don't rule out an early goal or two. Swansea were one-down inside 49 seconds a week ago and Wolves have conceded half of their goals in the
opening 20 minutes. MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
Swansea have not won on any of their last four visits to Molineux. Their last victory was a 5-1 victory in the old Division Three in September 1985. The most recent league meetings between the teams came in the Championship in the 2008-09 season when Wolves won 2-1 after losing 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium. Wolves
went on to win the league and promotion to the Premier League. The teams have met just twice before in the top flight - in the 1981-82 season when there was a 0-0 draw at Swansea, with the Swans winning 1-0 at Molineux. The clubs have faced each other in every division in the league.
Wolves
Wolves have lost their last five league matches - it is their longest top-flight losing streak for 27 years. That season they lost six in a row and were relegated. They last lost six
straight league games in a row 20 years ago, from October to November 1991, in the old Division Two. The club's worst top-flight run was eight defeats in a row from December
1981 to February 1982. They have lost their last three at home. Their only home win was their first game of the season at Molineux when they beat Fulham 2-0. Wolves have scored just six goals this season, the joint-lowest total in the Premier League. Half of those goals have come from Steven Fletcher, who missed the defeat to West
Brom last time out with a calf injury. They have also failed to score in the first half of their last six league matches.
Swansea
Swansea have the worst away record in the Premier League. They have lost all four of the their away matches so far and are the only team in all four English leagues yet to
pick up a point away on their travels. They have lost a club record seven consecutive top-flight away games and are on a run of 26 matches without a top-flight away win. The Swans didn't score in their first four league matches but have scored seven goals in their last four. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 12 top-flight away games. Swansea conceded after 49 seconds in their defeat to Norwich last weekend. It was the fastest goal in the Premier League this season - until Robin van Persie scored after 29 seconds for Arsenal the following day.
Sunday 16th October noon ko West Bromwich Albion 2 (Brunt 8, Odemwingie 75) Wolves 0
The agony for Wolves goes on with the 2-0 defeat at The Hawthorns against arch rivals West Bromwich Albion their fifth successive League WOlves enjiyed the greater possession by far but did play as though they were at home with no cutting edge and poor misses by Doyle and Johnson. reversal. Nothing like helping the Baggies off their very poor run!
Wolves had plenty of possession, especially in the first half, but none of the chances they created were rewarded with a goal. Mick McCarthy made two changes to his starting line-up with Adam Hammill and Nenad Milijaš coming in for the injured Steven Fletcher and Stephen Hunt who was named as a substitute. Wolves kicked-off attacking the Birmingham Road end and inside the first three minutes Jamie O'Hara had a shot blocked, Ben Foster did well in turning away an angled drive from Hammill and Milijaš's corner was cleared. But, in the eighth minute, in Albion's first attack of note, the home side took the lead. Billy Jones cut into the box from the left and he laid the ball into the path of Chris Brunt who rifled a shot into the roof of the net from the edge of the area. Shane Long tested Wayne Hennessey with a long range effort before Wolves came within an ace of levelling matters in the 14th minute. Milijaš fed Matt Jarvis whose cross was hit Steven Reid. The ball rebounded to Milijaš and his shot was turned aside by Foster but only as far as Kevin Doyle who looked odds on to score from just three-yards until Jonas Olsson managed to block. Christophe Berra went into the book for felling Long who was in full flight, and the former Reading striker was then denied by Stephen Ward whose perfectly timed tackle prevented a second Albion goal after Jerome Thomas had pulled the ball back into the heart of the area. After 34 minutes a Hammill centre was half cleared to Jarvis but his attempt to curl the ball into the top corner was wide of the mark. Hennessey managed to parry a fierce long-range shot from Gareth McAuley but the keeper was relieved to see Paul Scharner's shot flash inches wide of the far post shortly afterwards. In the closing minutes of the half Wolves forced four corners, three from Milijaš and one from Hammill, but the home defence held firm.
Half-Time: Albion 1 Wolves 0
Just 40 seconds after the restart, Hammill threaded the ball through to Jarvis who delivered a low cross that went through The Baggies six-yard box with no-one able to get a touch. Youssouf Mulumbu shot high over the bar from the 18-yard line before Sylvan Ebanks-Blake was sent on in place of Milijaš. Within a minute the striker sent a pass through to Hammill who fired towards the far corner only for Foster to get his fingertips to the ball and turn it past the post. Richard Stearman needed lengthy treatment after he had been caught by Brunt and then Ward took a boot in the face as he defended a corner and he reappeared heavily bandaged having sustained a cut forehead. Hennessey dived full length to keep out a drive from Brunt before Roger Johnson missed a golden chance of grabbing an equaliser when he headed wide at the back post after Doyle had crossed from the left. A series of substitutions followed with Hunt replacing Hammill for Wolves and Peter Odemwingie for Somen Tchoyi for Albion. And after Hennessey had saved with his legs from Thomas, the final Wolves change saw Adlene Guedioura replace Jarvis. Odemwingie sealed Wanderers fate in the 77th minute when he hit a low shot into the far corner from just inside the area. Ebanks-Blake drew a routine save from Foster and then Odemwingie missed a good chance for Albion when he blazed the ball over the bar from a good position. Three minutes from the end, a free-kick from O'Hara found its way to Guedioura who wasn't far away with a terrific overhead kick. But this wasn't an afternoon that the away supporters in the Smethwick End will want to remember for too long.

West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie is battling to overcome a foot problem in time for the Black Country derby. Steven Reid is doubtful with a broken hand, so summer signing Billy Jones may deputise at right-back. Wolves will be without leading scorer Steven Fletcher, who suffered a calf injury in training. Left-back George Elokobi is sidelined with an ankle injury but fit-again Ronald Zubar could play his first game since February. MATCH PREVIEW
The relief of last season's successful escape for both these clubs has seeped away to be replaced by early anxiety amongst supporters fearing another relegation battle. The form guide makes grim reading. The Baggies have won just three of their last 13 league games. They haven't beaten Wolves in the top flight since 1982. Roy Hodgson has never beaten them in five Premier League attempts. With Peter Odemwingie failing to hit last season's heights, their scoring options are limited. They've bagged just one at home and are searching for their first Hawthorns league victory this season. Four of the five goals they have scored so far have come in the first five minutes. They haven't netted at all in the second half and they've kept just four clean sheets since returning to the Premier League last year. That's not good enough.
Wolves are also on the slippery slope. If they're beaten, it'll be their longest losing run in the top flight since 1983-84. But their luck has been awful with chronic decisions going against them. Fortunes must turn. They may have won just once in six games against West Brom, but they were unbeaten last season away from home in derby games, although they will miss the injured Steven Fletcher, the most potent striker at either club on current form. His eight goals in his last 12 league games have outshone Kevin Doyle, who could be up against his old Cork City and Reading team-mate Shane Long here. Both Irishmen are tireless workers and rarely get the praise due to them because their scoring record isn't top-notch. The most impressive of the pair could swing this match, though. The midfield tussle between Youssouf Mulumbu and Karl Henry will also be key and don't be surprised to see a spectacular goal fly in from James Morrison or Stephen Hunt. If Wolves can channel Hunt's boundless energy into the right channels, they can stop their slump and Mick McCarthy can stretch his own unbeaten run against West Brom to five league games. Don't underestimate the passions that burn beneath this local derby. It's passionately fierce and both managers might be glad of a point. MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
Wolves' 3-1 win at Molineux on 8 May is their only victory in their last six games against West Brom. The reverse fixture, a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns on 20 February, was Roy Hodgson's first official game in charge of West Brom. Wolves completed the double over Albion during the inaugural Football League season of 1888-89. The first league game was contested on 15 December 1888, with Wolves emerging 2-1 home victors.
West Bromwich Albion
The Baggies are the only Premier League club yet to score a second-half goal this season. Four of the five league goals they have netted this term arrived in the opening five minutes. Roy Hodgson's side have won one of their last eight Premier League matches (at Norwich on 11 September).
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Mick McCarthy's men have claimed one point from a possible 15 since winning their opening two matches, and have lost their last four. If they are beaten on Sunday it will be their longest losing run in the top flight since 1983-1984. That season they lost six successive games between March and April, and were relegated at the end of the campaign. Wolves need three goals to register 4,000 in top-flight football.

Sunday 9th October 2pm ko Matt Murray Testimonial 7-2 to Matt’s team details here
Saturday 1st October Wolves 1 (Fletcher 88) Newcastle United 2 (Ba 19, Gutierrez 38)
Robber Refs Halsey bottles it again, while his capped lino needed glasses not a hat. Even Pardew saw those! But, Mick's right - the goals they scored were soft as it's 4 in a row and only one point a game average.
The Beeb said: Newcastle made it their best start to a season in 17 years with victory over Wolves at Molineux. Demba Ba scored his fourth goal in two games when he headed in
Yohan Cabaye's corner at the near post. Argentine midfielder Jonas Gutierrez added a superb second when he surged past four challenges to fire in low. Steven Fletcher headed
in for Wolves late on, who were denied a penalty and what appeared to be a legitimate equaliser in stoppage time. Wolves boss Mick McCarthy will rightly be aggrieved by those two decisions. The first was made by referee Mark Halsey who judged Steven Taylor's foul on Jamie O'Hara to have been outside the area when it was inside, and the second was made by the assistant referee who deemed Adam Hammill's cross to have gone behind before it was headed back for Kevin Doyle to net. McCarthy will point to their bad luck but the statistics now show that Wolves have lost four league matches and have claimed one point from a possible 15 - so it may prove to be another difficult season for the Midlands side. In contrast, the Newcastle juggernaut rolls on. Newcastle are unbeaten in their last 10 PL games. The previous time they went 10 games unbeaten in the top flight was August 1997. The Magpies are unbeaten and enjoying their best run since 1994, although few would have thought the class of 2011 would come close to emulating their ancestors. Alan Pardew's current squad has been put together with a relatively low budget but the resolve and unity within the team is priceless. Another surprise is that Newcastle have the meanest defence in all four leagues and they did their utmost to preserve the tag at Molineux. Young Dutch keeper Tim Krul saw his value rocket up with a sensational display. He dived low to stop O'Hara's free-kick from swinging in before twice saving from Doyle. But his Hollywood moment came in the second half when his double save denied Fletcher and Hammill. For all of Newcastle's braveheart efforts, Wolves were also guilty of profligacy with Fletcher and Doyle wasting chances when in good positions. The visitors attacking unit played their part too. They looked pacy and powerful in attack and opened the scoring when Ba scored his fourth goal in two games when he headed in Cabaye's corner from the left. They extended their advantage seven minutes before half-time when Gutierrez went on a mazy run before slotting in. Minutes later Wolves were denied a penalty which could have brought them back into the game. Fletcher did give his side hope with three minutes remaining when he scored from Hammill's cross, but another dubious decision denied them a deserved equaliser. It was Hammill again who swung the ball to the far post which was nodded back by Matt Jarvis for Doyle to covert. The Wolves players ran away to celebrate only for the party to be halted by the assistant's flag.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy: "Bad decisions have cost us, but poor defending has cost us first and foremost. When you're having a tough time you need the right decisions to go your way. It doesn't help our cause does it? We were wasteful in front of goal and had enough chances in the second half to win the game. On the decision not to award a penalty: "I spoke to Mark [referee Halsey] and he said he didn't want to guess. It didn't require a guess because it was in the area. I could just point fingers at everyone else but we conceded poor goals."
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew: "We were lucky today. Wolves were very, very good and off the back of two home defeats they weren't going to give in. Perhaps deserved a point at the very least. In the first half we showed we had quality in this team and in the second half we showed we had the spirit to hang on. We've been better than that and controlled the game much better in other matches. Today we had good fortune and did play well at times."
WWFC saw it like this (rather optimistically) Wolves 1 (Fletcher 88) Newcastle United 2 (Ba 19, Gutierrez 38)
If Wolves had any luck it would be no luck all. That must have been the feeling in the home dressing room after a frenetic finish to a game that saw a cast iron penalty appeal turned down, a controversially disallowed goal that would have given Wanderers a point, and Newcastle goalmouth action where the ball was ricocheting around like something from a pinball game. After conceding two poor first-half goals Wolves dominated but all they had to show for their efforts was a late Steven Fletcher goal. Suffice to say the Man of the Match was the Geordies keeper, Tim Krul. But the outcome was a fourth successive League defeat. Fletcher returned in place of Dave Edwards as the only change to the team that had started the game at Liverpool. Newcastle kicked-off attacking the North Bank end but the early threats came from Wolves. Kevin Doyle had a cross headed clear by Fabricio Coloccini after just 24 seconds before keeper Krul made a full length diving save to keep out Jamie O'Hara's free-kick after Ryan Taylor had fouled Fletcher. Krul then made a more routine save from a bouncing effort from Doyle following a Matt Jarvis centre then a chip from Doyle hit the advancing keeper after Fletcher had played a short through ball. Jonas Gutierrez fired wide of the far post after he had run on to a pass from Demba Ba before the visitors moved into a 17th minute lead when Ba scored with a near post header from Yohan Cabaye's corner. Wolves were almost level three minutes later but Krul saved from Doyle with his feet and Jarvis's follow up was blocked in front of the line by a defender. Mick McCarthy's men continued to pile the pressure on and Christophe Berra hooked over the bar from close range after Fletcher had knocked down O'Hara's free-kick. Two Wolves corners came to nothing then, when play switched to the other end, Cheik Tiote forced a flying save from Wayne Hennessey. Then a Leon Best cross fell to Gutierrez who drew a fine save from Hennessey. The keeper pushed the ball out and it bounced back out of play off the Argentinian. Doyle wasn't far away with a low shot from 20-yards but Newcastle went two up after 38 minutes when Gutierrez ran past three challenges before burying a shot just inside the far post. Wolves should have been awarded a 41st minute penalty for Steven Taylor's challenge on O'Hara. There was no question that it was a foul but the referee gave a free-kick outside the box. Jarvis flicked the ball to O'Hara whose volley, from the tightest of angles, was tipped over by Krul. Just before the break there was another penalty appeal when Jarvis went down in the box but again it drew a negative response from the referee.
Half-Time: Wolves 0 Newcastle 2
Tiote's foul on Karl Henry straight after the resumption gave Wolves a free-kick to the left of the Newcastle area. O'Hara's kick went straight through a crowded goalmouth. Then Gabriel Obertan's foul on Doyle led to another free-kick opportunity for O'Hara and this time Fletcher gets his head to the ball but the connection wasn't a clean one and his effort went wide. Doyle was narrowly wide with a drive from 30-yards before a double switch saw Adlene Guedioura and Adam Hammill replacing Stephen Hunt and Henry respectively. Richard Stearman won two tackles in quick succession before releasing Hammill whose cross was laid back by Fletcher into the path of O'Hara who fired wide from the edge of the box. Fletcher hit a first time shot over the bar after an O'Hara cross, and then Hammill went on an enterprising run into the Newcastle area where his progress was finally halted by Steven Taylor. In a rare attack by the visitors, Ba fired inches wide of the far post before the assault on Krul's goal continued with Jarvis and Jarvis both seeing efforts blocked. Then, in an incident that almost brought a reward for the home side, Jarvis had another drive blocked with Fletcher latching on to the rebound and forcing a good save from Krul. Hammill scuffed his shot after running onto the loose ball, but forced Krul into another save. Hammill lifted the ball over the angle but he played his part in Wolves finally breaking through in the 88th minute. The Liverpudlian delivered a fine cross that was powerfully headed home by Fletcher. The action continued into the five minutes of added time and Molineux erupted when Jarvis headed Hammill's cross back into the six-yard box where Doyle shot against the foot of the post and then forced home the rebound. But the joy turned to despair as the linesman on the far side decided that the ball had gone out of play before Doyle struck. A questionable decision but it summed up Wolves' luck

Davide Santon has recovered from a knee injury, but is not expected to displace Ryan Taylor at left-back. MATCH PREVIEW
Last season's game between these two sides was memorable for a season's record of 12 yellow cards and a coming together of Karl Henry and Joey Barton which was, shall we
say, robust. Another highlight was a dynamic performance of menace and power from Andy Carroll. Steven Fletcher's strike at Anfield last Saturday was Wolves' first league goal in over six hours of football Barton and Carroll have gone of course; in fact only six of the 11 Newcastle starters a year ago are still at the club - all the more reason to be impressed by their unbeaten start to the season. I have commentated on two of their six games so far and have been really impressed by the core of the side. Tim Krul is maturing into a very fine goalkeeper, Steven Taylor and Fabricio Coloccini have been rock solid in defence, and they have a potentially outstanding midfield pairing - a lovely blend of Cheik Tiote's substance and Yohan Cabaye's style. So far, Newcastle have conceded only three league goals, the best defensive record in the top flight. So do Wolves have what it takes to puncture that back line? They've already had one bit of very good news this week with Kevin Doyle signing a contract extension. Manager Mick McCarthy will hope that it sparks a scoring streak as Steven Fletcher's strike at Anfield last Saturday was their first league goal in over six hours of football. MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
Wolves have won four and drawn two of their last six home matches against Newcastle in all competitions. Last season's encounter at Molineux produced 12 yellow cards - more than any other Premier League fixture in 2010-11. Referee Stuart Attwell booked seven Wolves players and five from Newcastle. Three of the previous four Premier League meetings between the sides have ended in 1-1 draws. The exception was Newcastle's 4-1 win at St James' Park on 2 April.
Wolves
Mick McCarthy's men have claimed one point from a possible 12 since winning their opening two matches, and have lost their last three. The last time they lost four league matches in a row was in November 2010, when they were beaten by Manchester United, Arsenal, Bolton and then Blackpool. Steven Fletcher has scored seven goals in his last 11 league games.
Newcastle
Alan Pardew's side are unbeaten in nine top-flight matches - their longest run for nine years. The last time they avoided defeat in their opening six Premier League matches was the 1994-95 campaign. That season they did not lose until their 12th league match. Newcastle are unbeaten in their last four away league games (W1, D3).
