Outstanding efforts throughout the match - another two defensive slips (Capt Kev & Stears) but captain for the day Kevin Foley led the way admirably - scoring the first and unphased by letting the cross for the Black Cats' second.  Ronnie Zubar's back - it showed by Wolves being further up the field - with 7 in the opposition box for Stephen Hunt's first Wolves goal and equaliser while Wolverhampton Wanderers' Number 9 showed all the confidence he demonstrated as 2 time Golden Boot winner from a brilliant Doyler cross.  Mike Jones again cemented his place in the rubbish refs list - not even knowing the offside rule, let alone some of the other decisions.  The Hammers thought they were off the bottom after hammering Wigan, but first Milijas, then Doyler and to blast it home - SEB had other ideas.

Two goals in the last ten minutes gave Wolves three precious points as they came from behind to beat a Sunderland side that in their last away outing had achieved a 3-0 win over Premier league leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.   There were four changes to the Wolves starting line up with Wayne Hennessey, Ronald Zubar, Stephen Ward and Nenad Milijaš coming in for Marcus Hahnemann, Stephen Hunt, the suspended Chrisophe Berra and the injured Karl Henry.   George Elokobi moved from full-back to central defence in Berra's absence, and Kevin Foley took over the captain's armband. There was a first League start of the season for both Hennessey and Zubar.  On a bitterly cold but clear afternoon, Sunderland kicked-off attacking the North Bank end. The early pressure came from Wolves with two Zubar centres being cleared before a short cross from Kevin Doyle was headed behind by John Mensah. Dave Jones took the corner which was cleared for another from which Richard Stearman was penalised for a push Darren Bent sprinted into the home area but his angled drive lacked the power to trouble Hennessey before Bolo Zenden fired a foot wide with a shot from inside the box. In the 13th minute Mensah had to clear Ward's centre over his own crossbar and, from the resultant corner, Stearman just failed to get a touch to Matt Jarvis's corner when he ran in at the far post. Penalty appeals for a foul by Lee Cattermole on Milijaš as the pair went for Ward's cross were ignored and when Doyle snatched at the loose ball he shot high over the bar. As Craig Gordan touched Ward's lobbed cross over the bar the referee blew for a foul by Jones on the keeper even though replays showed there was no contact. Midway through the half Molineux erupted as Stearman touched the ball home after Elokobi had returned it into the middle when Jarvis's corner was half cleared. But the cheers soon turn to anger when the supporters realised that the lineman had flagged for offside. Elokobi was booked for handling and Kieran Richardson's tremendous free-kick hit the inside of the far post and curled in front of Hennessey before going behind on the far side. Then it was the turn of Black Cats skipper Cattermole to see the yellow card after he had felled Doyle.  Zenden beat the offside trap but as he homed in on Hennessey's goal the ball ran away from him allowing the Welsh keeper to collect.  Just before the break Gordan dived to take a drive from Jarvis and, in stoppage time, Richardson was booked after a challenge on Doyle that left the striker in need of treatment.

Seconds after the resumption, Zubar fired wide with a powerful effort and then the defender was in action in his own area as Bent threatened with Zubar's intervention allowing Hennessey to claim.  Wolves took the lead in the 50th minute through Foley whose cross was headed onto the far side where Jarvis hit a shot that Gordan pushed out. The ball fell to Foley who made no mistake picking his spot on the far side of goal. Bent looked on for an equaliser after he had dribbled his way into the box but Elokobi managed to geta foot in and the ball trickled off the Sunderland striker to the grateful Hennessey. A shot from Zubar ballooned up into the air and when it dropped to Doyle he wasn't able to get enough purchase on his header and Gordan made an easy save. Stephen Hunt replaced Jones after 63 minutes shortly before a clever ball from Milijaš sent Jarvis away on the right. The winger cut past a defender but fired over the bar from just inside the box. Danny Welbeck wasted a good opportunity after he had taken advantage of some sloppy home defending, but Bent made no mistake in the 67th minute when he beat Hennessey with a clinical left foot shot. Their tails up, Sunderland went close when Bent hit a fierce effort into the side netting and then substitute Steed Malbranque aimed a chip towards the far corner of goal forcing Hennessey to back peddle and tip the ball over. But the keeper stood no chance in the 77th minute as Welbeck despatched a precision header into the net after a Phil Bardsley cross. Mensah was booked for fouling Doyle and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake was sent on for Michael Mancienne just before Hunt levelled matters with his first goal for the club. Milijaš floated a deep free-kick into the box and Elokobi nodded the ball down for Hunt to smash into the net from close quarters.  Ebanks-Blake fired over the angle after Doyle had flicked a Ward cross into his path, and seconds later Hennessey made a fine save to deny Cattermole.  With the game in its 89th minute, Ebanks-Blake won it for Wolves when he displayed great control before rifling the ball past Gordan after a low cross from Doyle had found him unmarked in the Sunderland box.

So they huffed and they puffed and still couldn't blow the house down.  Not so much big bad Wolves in the black away strip as once again the defence fails (Foley & Hahnemann) and a "spirited fightback" is pushed back by Balckpool's reserve goalie.  What did ours say on MOTD2 only a week ago "I never make mistakes" - and then proceeds to a Michael Oates quailty flap for their second goal.  And can we expect Clattenburg to give a clear penalty from either the trip on Sylvan or the push in Doyler's back?  Of course not.  While the explanation for leaving out our sure footed star midfielder since his return, Nenad Milijaš and bringing back the hapless Jones, who looked like Bambi on ice every time he got the ball, will no doubt never be given.

A late goal from Kevin Doyle wasn't enough to prevent Wolves from slipping to a disappointing defeat at Blackpool as the poor run of results continued and the team remained firmly entrenched in the bottom three of the Premier League.   Mick McCarthy reverted to a 4-5-1 formation as he made three changes to his starting line up with Dave Jones, Michael Mancienne and Christophe Berra replacing Nenad Milijaš, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Steven Mouyokolo respectively.   Wolves, sporting their all black change strip for the first time, defended the half of Bloomfield Road that housed over 2,000 of their supporters as The Tangerines kicked-off.  But once again the Molineux men conceded an early goal. With less than three minutes gone, Luke Varney hit a speculative volley from the left-hand corner of the box that dipped over the helpless Marcus Hahnemann.  Wolves responded with three corners in quick succession and from the third, taken by Matt Jarvis, the ball broke to George Elokobi whose goalbound shot bounced clear off the chest of Stephen Crainey.  Former Wolves loanee Marlon Harewood tested Hahnemann with a low shot from 25-yards then home keeper Richard Kingson punched a Jones volley away from under the crossbar after Jarvis had teed up a free-kick up for the midfielder.   In the 28th minute a corner from Stephen Hunt was half cleared to Kevin Foley who crossed for Berra to get in a header that was easily claimed by Kingson.   It turned out to be Foley's last action in the game. Shortly after the start he had switched from left-back to midfield with Mancienne taking on the defensive role. And with the game less than half an hour old, he was replaced by Milijaš.  Doyle wasn't far away with a glancing header from an Elokobi cross, and then Jones volleyed wide from just outside the area.  Wolves were enjoying much of the attacking play without unduly worrying Kingson and when the home side broke Hahnemann needed two attempts to claim a swerving 30-yard effort from Ian Evatt.  Hunt headed narrowly wide after a centre from Elokobi but the afternoon grew ever darker for Wanderers as Blackpool went two up in the 44th minute after a Charlie Adams corner.  Hahnemann and Varney went for the ball which dropped down to Harewood who forced it home with the ball having crossed the line before Richard Stearman hooked clear.

Ebanks-Blake replaced Hunt at the start of then new half which began with Hahnemann cutting out a low, driven cross from DJ Campbell.   Kingson dived to take an angled drive from Elokobi at the near post and then Jarvis raced to the by-line before delivering a low cross that was cleared only as far as Jones who was way off the mark from the edge of the box.
Jarvis failed to find a team-mate after another speedy run to the line and then Matt Phillips drove a cross right through the heart of Hahnemann's goalmouth.  Appeals for a penalty after Adams's challenge on Milijaš were ignored then Doyle's cross just eluded Ebanks-Blake as Wolves continued to press.  Karl Henry was booked for a foul on David Vaughan and moments later the Wolves skipper was replaced by Steven Fletcher.  Twice in a minute Milijaš came close to reducing the deficit. On the hour mark he advanced to within 20-yards of goal before hitting a low drive that came back off the post. Then the Serb hit a shot on the turn that flew over the angle.  A swerving effort from Jarvis almost caught Kingson off guard and, at the other end, Varney flashed a shot just off target after he had been played through by Adams.  Ebanks-Blake was unlucky when he connected with a cross-shot from Jarvis with the ball bouncing off the keeper before going behind.  With ten minutes remaining Berra was shown the yellow card after he had tripped Campbell a yard outside the area.  Evatt was hurt as he cleared a cross from Jarvis right in front of goal, before Wolves finally found the back of the net as Doyle scored his first League goal of the campaign with a fine header after Elokobi had crossed from the left.  A scramble in the home area could have yielded an equaliser but the ball was hacked clear and, in the four minutes of stoppage time, Doyle went close with a shot on the turn that was a yard wide.  The game ended with a Jarvis corner being headed clear.

Woeful defending again for two of the goals; a marvellous goal from Elmander (untackled) a spirited fightback and the chances to win it.  Bolton played their game on the break, hence Wolves' possession, but. once again our strikers didn't deliver to make up for the defence.  Shame Jarvo didn't do enough to earn the call up to the England squad against France from the provisional squad.   Surprisingly - but well done to him - Jay Bothroyd now at Wolves Reserves (Cardiff) did.

Wolves didn't reach the heights of some of their recent performances and after conceding another first minute goal, they shipped two more midway through the second period. A stirring fightback in the last 20 minutes almost yielded a reward but the game ended in another defeat.  Mick McCarthy made three changes from the team that had started against Arsenal as he opted to play a 4-4-2 formation.  Stephen Hunt replaced the injured Dave Edwards whilst Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and George Elokobi came in for Michael Mancienne and Stephen Ward respectively. Both Ward and Mancienne took a place on the bench.  Then the news came through that Christophe Berra had injured a knee in the warm up and he was replaced at the last minute by Steven Mouyokolo who made his first start in the League.  Before kick-off an impeccably observed minute's silence was observed ahead of Remembrance Sunday.  After the dreadful start against Arsenal three days earlier when they conceded after 38 seconds, the home defence didn't last much longer this time after they had kicked-off attacking the North Bank end.  Just 46 seconds had elapsed when Richard Stearman headed past his own keeper in attempting to clear Chung-Yong Lee's headed ball into the middle.  After five minutes a Matt Jarvis corner went to the far side of the box and was returned into the goalmouth by Karl Henry. Jussi Jaaskelainen had to concede another flag-kick under pressure from Stearman and Mouyakolo.  This time Jarvis played the ball back into the path of Nenad Milijaš who hit a terrific shot that struck Zat Knight and knocked him off his feet.  A neat through ball from Milijaš almost played Hunt through but Sam Ricketts just managed to prod the ball behind for a corner.  The Wolves rearguard were struggling to clear their lines as Lee tried to find a shooting angle until Elokobi charged in to boot the ball clear. Shortly afterwards Lee needed treatment after a mid air collision with Elokobi.  Hunt was booked after a shoulder charge on Jaaskelainen and Ricketts was lucky not to suffer a similar punishment for a tackle from behind on Jarvis.   Ebanks-Blake used his hand when he hit the post after Doyle had nodded the ball into the box, and then, after the striker had been fouled by Knight, Jaaskelainen punched Milijaš's free-kick clear.  The ball went as far as Kevin Foley and his cross dropped into the path of Ebanks-Blake who volleyed high over the bar with a first time effort.  Matthew Taylor then hit the home defensive wall with a 25-yard free-kick after Milijaš had been somewhat harshly penalised after a challenge on Johan Elmander.  Wanderers finished the half strongly and Jaaskelainen was lucky that the ball went to one of his own defenders after he had spilled Hunt's low cross.  In stoppage time a superb ball from Milijaš saw Jarvis get goal-side of Ricketts, but Jaaskelainen spread himself to block the winger's angled shot.

Half-Time; Wolves 0 Bolton 1

Three minutes after the restart Milijaš almost conjured up an equaliser after Jarvis had laid a corner into his path. The Serb took a touch on the edge of the box before hitting a shot That clipped the top of the crossbar. Seconds later Marcus Hahnemann just won a race for the ball when he dived at the feet of Elmander before Knight had a shot deflected wide for a corner.  Jarvis displayed the form that has lifted him to the verge of full international honours when he outpaced his marker before driving a low centre through the heart of the Bolton box. Unfortunately the ball went behind his team-mates and was hooked clear by a grateful defender.  Hahnemann had little difficulty in holding onto a 22-yard drive from Stuart Holden but the keeper was powerless to prevent Elmander for adding to Bolton's lead in the 62nd minute.   Holden found Elmander who had his back to goal but he turned between Henry and Mouyokolo using some clever footwork before finding the net with a low shot that went just inside the far post.  After Ebanks-Blake's shot was blocked and Doyle hit the rebound over the bar, a difficult task for Wolves became an almost impossible one as Bolton went three up in the 67th minute as Holden was given the time and space to pick his spot after taking a return pass from Lee.  Within two minutes Foley went forward and found Jarvis who returned the ball to the defender who steadied himself before picking his spot for a well worked goal.  Jarvis fired over a dangerous cross despite three men surrounding him near the left-hand corner flag, and although the ball was cleared it was from his corner that the deficit was reduced to one when substitute Steven Fletcher ran in at the far post to convert with a diving header.  It was the signal for some sustained heavy pressure on Jaaskelainen's goal but the fates favoured the visitors in two scrambles in the area with the ball falling to white shirted players at the crucial moment on each occasion.  Davies just failed to get his foot to Matthew Taylor's cross as Bolton looked to hit back on the break, but Wolves should have completed a remarkable comeback in the 90th minute but Mouyokolo headed the wrong side of the post after another fine cross from Jarvis.

Marouane Chamakh scored in the first and last minute to give Arsenal victory over a determined Wolves.  The striker clinically headed in the first after being picked out by Alex Song's pinpoint cross from the right.  Marcus Hahnemann then made fine saves from Andrey Arshavin and Cesc Fabregas, before Wolves' Richard Stearman had an effort cleared off the line.  Arshavin hit the post with a low drive before Chamakh ended Wolves' resistance when he finished off a counter-attack.  The win will be a welcome relief for the north Londoners, who went into the game low on morale after back-to-back defeats.  But they were far from their best again and came under heavy attack from Wolves in the second half, as the hosts produced a spirited fightback after their disastrous opening when they conceded after only 37 seconds. 
Wolves will be understandably frustrated - and remain second from bottom in the Premier League table - after they failed to take their chances, and yet again were unable to keep a clean sheet.  And while boss Mick McCarthy will be pleased by Wolves' efforts, he will know that hard-luck stories will not save them from relegation.  An inability to keep a clean sheet has cost them dear once more - they have yet to do so in the league this season, and that is is a damning statistic.  Arsenal, too, looked far from comfortable at the back at times, although they did have the excuse of being without their first-choice centre-backs.  The visitors' start should have boosted their confidence. Looking determined to arrest their poor run, the Gunners flew out of the blocks and stunned Wolves with the first attack of the game.  Tomas Rosicky, restored to the starting line-up along with Arshavin, fed Song out wide and the midfielder's accurate centre was expertly dispatched by Chamakh.  And the visitors kept up their momentum as they threatened to overrun Wolves early on, carving out chances at will. Hahnemann rushed out to the edge of the box to save from Arshavin who looked on course to score after blocking a clearance and racing through.  The Wolves stopper also did well to keep out a Fabregas shot after the Spaniard had been found by Arshavin's pull-back before Christophe Berra blocked a shot from the lively Arshavin .  The hosts finally broke out of their own half and Stephen Hunt, who replaced Dave Edwards early on, whipped in a free-kick from the right touchline and Kevin Doyle headed just over the bar.  It was the best chance of the opening half for Wolves, and it may have served to give them some impetus as they came out after the interval all guns blazing.   A slip from Jack Wilshere was very nearly punished as Matt Jarvis delivered a cross for Nenad Milijas, whose goalbound shot was brilliantly blocked by Bacary Sagna.  Although Wolves were now enjoying the lion's share of possession, they almost went two goals down when Richard Stearman's poor clearance fell to Rosicky. He played in Fabregas but the Arsenal skipper lashed the ball wide.  Then followed a period of sustained pressure from Wolves. Karl Henry volleyed an effort across goal when he might have done better. Doyle forced a fine save from Lukasz Fabianski, who tipped the striker's chip over the bar and from the corner, Stearman's effort was cleared off the line by Rosicky.  Arsenal responded and might have wrapped it up but Arshavin's low drive cannoned off the foot of the post before Johan Djourou's shot was cleared off the line by Henry.  The frantic pace was matched by the players' commitment, although Fabregas almost took that too far when he slid in on Stephen Ward and was rightly shown a yellow card.   With time running out, Doyle ran direct at the Gunners' defence and fizzed a shot just wide of the post. Shortly after, Fabianski made another top-class save when he got down low to smother a fierce effort from Berra.  Almost immediately, Wolves' last remaining hopes of getting anything out of the game were extinguished when Fabregas found Chamakh and the striker finished coolly from the edge of the box.

Sylvan turns it on but Ward outclassed and Stephen Fletcher is as bad as Stephen Elliott

For the second time in 11 days Wolves lost out to a last gasp winner at Old Trafford. Mick McCarthy's men were left to leave the pitch feeling understandably disconsolate and justifyably claiming 'there ain't no justice'. Both United goals, from Ji-Sung Park, came at the end of each half whilst Sylvan Ebanks-Blake was on target for Wolves against his former club.

Wolves kicked-off attacking the Stretford End and the first save came from Edwin Van Der Sar who fielded a 40-yards punt from Karl Henry who had latched onto a poor clearance and spotted the keeper off his line. Owen Hargreaves, making his first senior appearance for United after a two year injury break, limped off after just six minutes to be replaced by Bebe who was soon involved as he cut inside Stephen Ward before hitting a shot that took a deflection enabling Marcus Hahnemann to make an easy save, Matt Jarvis won the first corner of the game off Gabiel Obertan who fired wide. And then Wes Brown was penalised for a late challenge on Kevin Doyle but Matt Jarvis's free-kick was cleared by Nemanja Vidic. In the 34th minute Park's shot was blocked by Hahnemann with Karl Henry completing the clearance, and then Ward fouled Bebe but Patrice Evra's free-kick was easily claimed by Hahnemann.

Christophe Berra conceded a free-kick for an unfair challenge on Javier Hernandez but Darren Fletcher's ball into the box was cleared without too much difficulty by David Edwards. Right on half-time United took an undeserved lead when Park slotted the ball home after taking a pass from Darren Fletcher.

In the 53rd minute Park set up Hernandez who charged in from the right before shooting wastefully over the bar. Hernandez was closer to the corner flag than the goal with a first time effort, and Hahnemann needed two attempts to hold on to a shot from Bebe who had been fed by Evra. Wolves made a double switch in the 64th minute with Ebanks-Blake coming on for Hunt and Steven Fletcher for Dave Edawrds. Just two minutes after his introduction Ebanks-Blake pulled his side level. Nenad Milijaš's miss-hit shot fell to the striker who swivelled and hit a left foot shot past Van der Sar. Hahnemann pushed the ball behind after a cross from Obetrtan but the keeper was in the right place to field the corner that followed. Then Alex Fergusson sent on Paul Scholes and Ferderico Macheda in place of John O'Shea and Bebe respectively. Wolves made a final change with Michael Mancienne replacing Milijaš. Fletcher headed over from a Doyle cross and Hernandez went into the book after a dive in the Wolves box. Obertan's scissors kick was easily taken by Hahnemann but just as Wolves looked on for a fully deserved draw, Park cut in from the right and rode two tackles before shooting home to earn a lucky United side three points.
